Starting in 2019, we will be adding some delineations to our massage therapy service choices if you book online. Instead of a general “massage therapy” heading, we will subdividing that into Swedish/Therapeutic as one option, and Deep Tissue/Sport massage as the other option. This is so you can be directed to the type of massage and therapist who will serve you the best. We will still be offering Hot Stone, Pre/Post Natal, and Oncology massages as separate options.
If you are not sure which service best suits your needs, call us at 508-788-7300 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will be sure to connect you with the right therapist to fit your needs!
This massage option covers a lot of options. Our therapists who offer this generally offer a fusion of different techniques to help you relax, reduce muscle tension, and relieve your aches and pains. If you have never had a massage before, this is always your best choice. The massage can be strictly Swedish, which relaxing and gentle and perfect for those who are more sensitive. It can also be combined with other deeper techniques (like myofacial release or trigger point therapy) for a more therapeutic effect, but always within your comfort level. If you are looking for pain and stress relief, you will be well served with this option.
Therapists: Rachael, Donna, Sasha and Nathaniel
DEEP TISSUE/SPORTS MASSAGE:
For those who know they like DEEP massage, this is the choice for you. Deep Tissue aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body and is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. This is also a great choice for athletes who suffer from injuries or pain due to repetitive movements, and want to perform at their best.
Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don’t get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness can be pretty common after this type treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
This type of massage is NOT recommended for someone who has never had a massage before, or who has sensitivity to deep pressure.
Therapists: Vita, Sasha, Nathaniel and Donna
