Yoga Fundamentals: For Beginners and beyond

Have you wanted to try yoga, but dismissed it thinking you are too big, too old or too inflexible?

Perhaps, like many people, you have felt intimidated by images of young, fit, flexible women in skin tight clothing  doing pretzel moves like an olympic gymnast.

Yoga has little to do with how well you can twist your body into different shapes.  Yoga is a path of living ethically and with awareness, and the yoga postures are just one part of the path.

Yoga postures are a great tool for learning how to connect with your body, connect with your breath, and find a place of ease and acceptance for being who you are.  And practicing yoga postures can be a safe place to explore your edges, honor your truth, and find that you are much stronger and wiser than you believed.

At the Gentle Place, we want to be partner with  you on that journey.  We’d like to extend an invitation for you to join us in our Yoga Fundamentals workshop running for the month of January, starting on Saturday January 2nd.

In this 5 week class we invite absolute beginners, or anyone looking to strengthen their practice, to come learn the basics of yoga from the comfort of your own home.  You’ll learn safe body positioning, alignment and modifications,  You’ll also learn how to use props to support you, and how to use breath to slow down and listen to your body.

At the end of 5 weeks, you’ll have the skills and the confidence to practice yoga in an authentic way, and take part in any yoga class or video safely.
